It gives me immense pleasure to take the opportunity to say a few words about the implementation of CCE in my school.
The school implements Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)from class I to Class X as per C.B.S.E. norms. As per the C.B.S.E., students will be assessed at both Scholastic and Co-scholastic areas. Scholastic area includes Formative and Summative Assessment in English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.
There will be four Formative Assessments in the form of Unit Tests, Class Work, Home Work, Projects, Activities, Assignments, Group Discussion etc in every two months. Formative Assessment (1) will be held within June- July. Formative Assessment (2) will be held within Aug- Sep. Formative Assessment (3) will be held within Nov- Dec. Formative Assessment (4) will be held within Jan – Feb. The weightage of each Formative Assessment is of 10%.There will be two Summative Assessments for the whole academic year. The first Summative Assessment will be in the month of October and the second Summative Assessment will be in the month of March in every year. The weightage of 1st Summative Assessment is of 20% whereas the weightage of 2nd Summative Assessment is of 40% .Besides Formative and Summative Assessments the student will be also assessed in Work Experience, Art education, Physical & health education, Thinking skills, Social Skills, Emotional Skills, Attitude Towards Teachers, Attitude Towards School Mates, Attitude Towards School Programmes, Attitude Towards School Environments, Value System, Literary & Creative skills, Scientific skills, Aesthetic & Performing Art/Music, Involvement in school Houses, Sports and Games. Promotion is based on the day to day work of the students throughout the year and also on the performance in the terminal Examinations (Formative and Summative Assessments).
